I dont need living quarters. I have my own home already but it is teeny so I have outgrown my daytime workspace (office) and nighttime design space (garments, costumes, jewelry). I also need a space for dance practices.
Ideal space would have one room around 20x20 feet in size or 15 x 25 or somewhere in the range. It needs at least one large, unbroken wall for wall mirrors. Raw or hard floors are best due to traffic from customers who come for consultations and fittings. It needs a bathroom (toilet, but shower/bath not needed) and its own entrance from the street. Parking should be able to accommodate a few cars in the event of group fittings/ small group dance practices. Weekday times are usually quiet, but evenings & weekend days I have more traffic of those needing fittings, design consult, dance practices, etc... thus, more noise.
That said, a private space, unattached to a residence is ideal. I am also a dancer and would utilize the space a couple of times per week for dance rehearsals. It doesnt have to be pretty. As long as it is big, clean, safe, and CHEAP it'll work fine. Office space, a studio, whatever. Anywhere b/t 7 ave and 68th st and b/t Camelback & Broadway is perfect.
